Holidays While Parenting After Loss: A Letter to the Child Who Is Not here
February 2, 2022

While the entire month of October is dedicated to Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness, October 15 is a special day of awareness and remembrance. The International Wave of Light occurs on this date, with people lighting candles in honor of their angel babies, others’ angel babies, or just in general remembrance of babies gone too soon. Everyone lights candles at 7 p.m. in their time zone, keeping them lit until at least 8 p.m. in their time zone. This schedule means that there is a “Wave of Light” throughout the world.

This year, we lit 122 candles–one in honor of Sweet Pea, one in honor of Colette, and then 120 in honor of the angel babies whose families we have helped through our financial assistance program.

Check out photos below and watch our video of the reading of the names of babies.
