When a patient’s organ(s) fail, they may be eligible for an organ transplant. Organs given by volunteers either in death or as a living donation are transplanted into the patient, saving and transforming lives.

- 21,300 donors gave the gift of life in 2022
- In 2022, the United States hit 1 million organ transplants, the most of any country
- More than 100,000 patients are on organ transplant waiting lists
- Every 9 minutes another person is added to the donor waitlist
- 6,000 people died in 2021 while waiting on an organ transplant
