Women’s History Month: Recognizing Pioneers

Women's History Month celebrates the achievements and contributions of women throughout history, highlighting their impact across various fields. In the realm of health, pioneers in perinatal and infant health have played a critical role in improving maternal and child health outcomes. Women like Dr. Virginia Apgar, who developed the Apgar Score, a quick and effective method to assess newborn health, and Dr. Lillian Wald, a public health nurse who advocated for maternal and infant care, have made lasting contributions. Their work continues to shape the way we approach pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care, ensuring healthier outcomes for generations to come.

We will be featuring their work and stories throughout March and beyond.
